The Finest French Ginger Liqueur Extraordinaire- Domaine de Canton
Domaine de Canton is the world's first ginger liqueur, imported by Maurice Cooper et Cie. It is a blend of the finest French cognac and fresh Vietnamese baby ginger. In 2008, Domaine de Canton won the Double Gold Medal for Best in Show for Liqueurs at the 2008 San Francisco Spirits Competition as well as Best of Show for the 2008 World Beverage Competition and the Grand Gold Award for Liqueurs at the 2008 World Selection/Monde Competition. Ginger-infused spirits, ginger drinks and ginger wine were first developed in French Colonial Indochina in the mid-19th century. Domaine de Canton French Ginger Liqueur is named for a ginger root estate located in the Indochinese province of Siam. This was the site where the first Cognac liqueur was created. Domaine de Canton is inspired by the French tradition of mixing sweet and fresh flavors. Fusing the freshest Vietnamese Baby Ginger with fine Eaux de Vie and Cognac, Domaine de Canton maintains the highest possible quality with its handmade production and all-natural, preservative and colorant-free ingredients. The production of each bottle of Domaine de Canton begins with the selection of fresh baby Vietnamese ginger, which is peeled and cut by hand. The ginger is then brought to Jarnac, located at the center of the French Cognac region where the Eau de Vie base infusion of fresh baby ginger is enhanced by VSOP Cognac. Finally, hints of Tahitian vanilla, honey from Provence and Tunisian ginseng are added to the blend, rounding out the flavor. The result is a product that is smooth and round enough to drink alone, but flavorful and sweet enough to serve in a variety of mixed drinks and signature cocktails. As of Spring 2008, Domaine de Canton is available for purchase in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Miami, and is set to launch in various other states and cities throughout 2008.
